絕育是毛孩成長中的必要事項，而主人可能會有很多疑問：一定要絕育嗎？絕育手術有什麼風險？女仔絕育是不是比男仔麻煩？還有其他問題，我們都能為你解惑！
絕育是透過手術使毛孩失去繁殖能力。絕育除了有助生育控制，對毛孩的健康也有不少好處。
「我可以保證不讓牠繁殖。可以不絕育嗎？」
從獸醫的角度來看，絕育的益處遠大於壞處。就算主人確保毛孩不會繁殖，並承諾提供最好的照顧，絕育對毛孩的健康和生活品質依然有多重的正面影響。
絕育有助改善情緒與行為
許多未絕育的貓狗會因為性荷爾蒙的影響而產生壓力，繼而出現攻擊、過度吠叫、尿標記以及焦躁不安等負面行為。
以貓貓為例，絕育後的雄性貓會有較少的衝動去遊蕩及打鬥，而雌性將不會經歷發情期。絕育有助控制荷爾蒙水平，能夠改善生活質素，令牠們情緒更穩定、更少焦慮，生活更平靜。
因應不同的生殖器官，手術的複雜程度亦有所不同。雄性絕育會將睪丸切除，而雌性絕育會把子宮和卵巢完全取出，這就需要開腹處理—因此相對於男仔，女仔的手術通常會稍微麻煩一點。
絕育手術期間會進行麻醉，而術後的疼痛程度則視乎毛孩的體型、手術複雜程度、獸醫技術及術後照護等多種因素而定。個別毛孩術後痛感較輕微，而其他毛孩則可能感受較強烈。你的獸醫會因應個別情況，為你的毛孩處方合適的止痛藥物和術後照護方案。
「點知獸醫手勢好唔好？」
在判斷獸醫的技術水平時，許多主人傾向以傷口外觀為主要考慮。在比較不同選擇的時候，他們會把「傷口細」、「不流血」、「不用拆線」（即使用吸收縫線）等因素視為獸醫「技術好」的表現。
然而，絕育手術有很多專業考量，傷口大小不是唯一更非最重要的標準：
追求細切口的風險
如果過度追求細小的傷口，可能會影響手術操作，例如在結紮血管時看不清楚，反而有機會增加出血風險。
什麼時間需要較大切口？
在某些情況下，獸醫可能需要較大切口，以確保手術安全進行：
即使貓狗已經四五歲，甚至七八歲，仍然可以進行絕育。
年齡考量與性別差異
雄性：絕育的迫切性相對較低，除非出現行為或前列腺相關問題。
雌性：不論年齡都建議絕育，因為年齡越大，罹患荷爾蒙相關疾病（如子宮蓄膿）的風險就越高，而這些疾病可能致命。
絕育的最佳時機
事實上，五個月大的貓貓已經有繁殖能力；但何時才是毛孩絕育的最佳時機，應向獸醫諮詢。
絕育後的毛孩確實需要特別照顧，例如：
食慾下降、活動減少、嗜睡、舔傷口都是因疼痛產生的正常反應，不必過度憂心。
若毛孩持續哀鳴、完全拒絕進食，甚至呼吸急促、心跳加快，或在你觸碰傷口範圍時反應過激，請立即聯繫獸醫。
和所有手術一樣，絕育手術和麻醉也存在風險——這亦是主人最擔心的問題。
術前評估
獸醫會為毛孩進行術前評估，以降低麻醉及手術風險，其中包括進行血檢（術前驗血）、聽診、X光等檢查。
術前驗血，確保安全
這是確保手術麻醉安全進行的重要步驟。
麻醉藥物需要透過肝臟和腎臟等重要器官來分解然後排出體外。如果這些重要器官的功能已經受損——即使只是喪失約 25% 的功能，而毛孩尚未表現出任何病徵—麻醉就可能會導致嚴重的併發症，例如腎衰竭。因此，術前驗血是必要一環。
不適合絕育的個案
對於患有長期疾病或先天性疾病（例如心臟病或腎衰竭）的貓狗，麻醉風險會很高，這時你需要與獸醫商討並權衡絕育的利弊。
有些主人擔心為毛孩絕育會令牠傷心，覺得自己傷害了牠。
事實上，動物不像人類，牠們不會以「完整性別」的概念去感受自己的身體。絕育後，由於消除了荷爾蒙帶來的壓力與焦躁情緒，只要術後照護妥當，毛孩康復後就會和以前一樣活潑健康，也不會因此而討厭主人。

Hotel guest can use the parking lot for XXX per day per vehicle (until 24:00 of the departure day). Customers who spend more than XXX in restaurant can park for 2 hours free of charge. Please bring your parking ticket when settling the bill. Parking fee for other customers is XXX for up to 1 hour and after that XXX will be added per every 30 minutes.
